  • 1947 Guy Holcomb and Emmitt Farmer form Wichita Falls Builders Supply Company
  • 1948 Wichita Falls Builders Supply Company adds blown-in insulation and acoustical ceiling tile to the supply line
  • 1948 Wichita Falls Builders Supply Company begins contracting the installation of materials supplied

1950s

  • 1950s The metal stud and gypsum board method of construction begins, joining the currently used block, lath and plaster as popular building materials

1960s

  • 1960s 17 new locations open across the country including Dallas, San Francisco, Houston, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Austin. This also includes Acoustex which is located in Fort Worth.
  • 1966 Acoustex is founded by Emmitt Farmer and Guy Holcomb as a commercial drywall and acoustical ceiling union contractor

1970s

  • 1981 Integrated Interiors Incorporated employs over 250 field employees

  • 1986 Partner Guy Holcomb is bought out by Jerry Lindsay and Mark Jennings. Acoustex is liquidated due to lack of union work. All Acoustex employees are now part of Integrated Interiors Incorporated.
