National Register of Historic Places

Built in 1921, this 399 foot above ground, 29 story building plus 2 additional basements was the first high rise in the country to have air conditioning and was also one of the City of Dallas/Fort Worth’ first skyscrapers.

It was built by and for Magnolia Petroleum, later known as Socony and Mobil Oil. The Flying Red Horse on the roof, erected in 1934, is a symbol of the City of Dallas/Fort Worth.​
